Very useful for checking PCBs for breaks in the track work. Resistance above 150R will not be detected.
With a piezo for an audible indication so that you can keep you eyes on the probe tip.
With a very short response time it will allow you to make tests very quickly and listen for the beeps. It will only respond to a definite short circuit or one that has a resistance of 50R or less. It will not respond to values above 80R or the voltage drop across a diode. This makes it better than a common multimeter with an internal protection diode.
