Mono 2 Head VCR with PIR Motion Detection and 'trigger' input Motion detection
• This modified VCR is a very low-cost event recorder with a trigger input and a video movement detector module. The movement detector is best suited for wireless cameras. When movement is detected in the video signal from a wireless receiver, it triggers the VCR to start recording and then stop after the specified time. This eliminates the use a hard-wired trigger sensors in wireless camera applications. The video motion detector can be by-passed, so having the trigger go straight to the Start/stop VCR module.
There are two main features of this VCR:
The first feature is the, start/stop VCR interface,
it is the movement activated recording from a trigger input, so you
will only record the action. Any type of (trigger) sensor, can be used
ie; a PIR, an alarm systems a pressure mat, or a door switch, ect. Any
switch-able device that closes the circuit when triggered. Any amount
of triggering devices can be connected to the input. Can be connected
either in parrallel; so any of them will start the trigger.
Alternatively connection can be made in series, so a number have to be
set-off before it is triggered, to stop false triggering. When any of
the sensors are activated the VCR will start to record the connected
camera or video input. As soon as the sensor is no longer detecting
movement, the VCR will stop recording.
Secondly, the AV input at the front of the machine is coupled to the inbuilt
motion detector module and this is in-turn connected to the VCR interface
module. This allows you to connect any video source to trigger the input and
when movement is detected in the video signal, it will start the recording.
Just like a PIR would on a closed-circuit system.
The internal delay module can be set to stop the recording after a user-defined delay. The delay times are: 15sec, 30sec, 1min, 2 min, 4min, 8min, and 16minutes. This delay time determines how long the VCR will record after it has been triggered. This is mostly used in conjunction with the video movement detector. The video motion detector has a 20 second delay before it will reset it-self to detect motion from the video input again.
The mono 2 head VCR is satisfactory for just the video recording system, with the addition of the standard recording head, and lacks in playback. The Stereo 6 Head VCR would be suitable for both the recording and playback system respectively.
